On November 15, 2017, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) launches the second edition of the DesignEuropa Awards, following on from its highly successful inaugural edition which took place in 2016. The call for entries will be open until May 15, 2018.
The DesignEuropa initiative seeks to recognise companies and designers that have brought outstanding design to the market with the support and protection of the Registered Community Design (RCD).
The inaugural edition of the Awards was a huge success, with applications and nominations from 27 countries. The finalists and winners provided a unique showcase of design excellence and the importance of design and intellectual property for our economic growth. The awards went to designs from the companies Thule, Caimi Brevetti and legendary car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The Award ceremony will take place in Warsaw, Poland, on November 27, 2018. The event coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Polish Patent Office, which will host a special celebration on November 26, 2018, making this a truly special occasion to celebrate the spirit of European innovation.
